Become a Sonographer

How do I become a sonographer?

Educational institutions currently offering accredited postgraduate programs in Medical Ultrasound in Australia are listed below. The programs are accredited by the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR). The entrance requirements will differ between institutions, so contacting your preferred educational body directly is highly recommended.

Commonly, successful applicants to postgraduate ultrasound studies would be holders of degree level qualifications in the health field. Examples of this include Medical Radiation Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Physiotherapy and Nursing.

For information on accreditation and a current list of accredited programs offered in Australia, please view the website of the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
