PD-asa FAQ's

PD-asa is available exclusively to members of the ASA. The FAQ's address common issues raised by our members. In order to continue to respond to member needs, we encourage and welcome all feedback.

PD-asa Rules

The PD-asa Rules have been developed by the ASA to provide a framework for all PD-asa participants to operate within. Before nominating and registering with PD-asa, we encourage you to read the PD-asa Rules.

Joining the next generation is as easy as 1-2-3

Step 1. Nominate PD-asa as your default program when you complete your annual ASAR accreditation membership.
Step 2. Complete the PD-asa registration process by logging on to the 'members only' section of the ASA website. Your ASA activities will not automatically register until you have completed this process at www.a-s-a.com.au. If you are already registered with PD-asa in the previous year, no need to register again, your activity log is already up and running!
Step 3. All of your ASA activities are automatically recorded in your PD-asa activity for you. Simply log on and record your points when you complete non-ASA activities.

Before you apply, you will need to have:

  • read the PD-asa Rules and eligibility criteria.
  • your ASA membership number.
  • your ASAR accreditation number.
  • a valid email address, and
  • your ASAR triennium end date

PD-asa tips for planning your CPD program

The primary purpose of CPD is to build and enhance your professional abilities so it makes sense to plan a CPD program to suit your own professional goals. Your plan should:

  • Identify short and long term career goals.
  • Establish outcomes that will improve your practice, income and employment opportunities.
  • Include learning opportunities that specifically meet your needs.
  • Develop skills and knowledge that build on your current abilities.
  • Include learning opportunities that expose you to new areas.
  • Select professional development commitments that suit your timelines and budget.
  • Investigate the availability of funding through your employer, government agencies or other sources.
  • Avoid unplanned or unproductive activities by planning your professional development over a yearly cycle.
  • Review and reassess your CPD progress each year.
