Only members of the ASA are eligible to use the designation of ASA Certified Sonographer or ASA Certified Student Sonographer.  As the peak body and leading voice for sonographers, this designation also serves as a powerful statement to peers, employers, regulators and patients about your commitment to clinical and professional excellence.  Eligible ASA members can contact the ASA National Office to request an electronic member logo which can be incorporated into your professional resources such as business cards, reports, PowerPoint presentations.

As a representative on the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR), the ASA is the recognised voice in representing members' interests to the profession, government and academia on the standard and quality of sonography being performed.

Congratulations to Bonita Anderson who has been recognised by the Australian Sonographers Association as the 2010 recipient of the Pru Pratten Memorial Award for Sonographer Achievement. This prestigious award provides formal recognition of Bonita’s personal efforts which have made an extraordinary contribution to the field of sonography. Highlights of Bonita’s achievements are included in soundeffects issue 2 available in June 2010.
